Free and Optional Audio for iPieta 4.2

Audio in iPieta is EXTRA:

The audio is entirely "ad extra". If you want the audio, it can be downloaded and added to iTunes and then synced to your device. The audio is "wired" into iPieta so prayers and Bible versers can be conveniently played. We provide free technical support for people who don't know how to add audio to iTunes.

Which files have audio and how does it work in iPieta?

Audio is optional in iPieta. You may choose to load the free audio for the prayers and documents listed below.

iPieta compiles audio "on the fly" within iPieta for high quality with minimal storage. This sequencing may take a minute for complex play-lists such as the Rosary or the Stations for older devices.

How do you play the audio in iPieta?

From the tables: Double-tap the blue audio icon to start playing the audio in the default language; single-tap the icon to bring up a menu which enables you to play the audio in English or Latin if both languages are available. A red icon means that the audio is playing. A single-tap will open the view to control the audio; a double-tap will stop the audio. A gray icon means that the audio is not loaded. Note that iPieta may be wired for some audio which we have yet to record.

From the text file: Double-tap webview or tap the Malterse Cross in the upper right. An audio / email menu similar to the one below opens. The exact menu will depend upon the current audio state and the availability of audio for the text.

iPod Audio Issue: iPieta uses the iPod player for the audio so the audio keeps playing even when you quit iPieta. The iPod player has a memory buffering error that inadverntantly pauses the audio on rare occasions. If this happens, just tapping the "next track" icon in the Audio Controller View may help. Our audio pro from Audio Graphic Services has been in contact with the iTunes division of Apple and they are aware of the issue.

Recording Information:
Audio is recorded and processed in high quality thanks to Audio Graphic Services. To avoid wasted storage on your device and to maintain harmonious uniformity, iPieta intelligently draws from a large pool of common prayers (e.g., the Our Father, Hail Mary, etc.) in a non-repetitive manner so as to sequence the Rosary and other devotions. This technique is possible because of the 40+ years of experience provided by Audio Graphics Services, the high-quality audio components contained in the iPhone / iPad, and the ability to program audio sequences within the iPieta App.

Some audio is available in both Latin and English. Choose your default audio language in Preferences. Double-clicking the audio icon (or Calendar Date) will play the audio with the default language. If the default language does not exist, then iPieta defers to the secondary language. The latter holds true for sequences. (For example, the Chaplet of St. Michael [highly recommended!] is currently only in English. But if you want to play it in Latin, at the least the Our Father's and the Hail Mary's will be in Latin.)
